About us

We’d love to give you more information about our editorial team and the ideas behind this project.

What is Musiksocke?

Musiksocke is a small advice website about music and has been around since 2008. Since then, we have welcomed several million visitors to the website.

Independent editors try to explain topics around albums, singles, artists, instruments, internet and software in a simple way. Always related to the topic of music.

The website is powered 100% by green electricity in German data centres. Our office also uses green electricity exclusively. Most of the time we are on the road by bike. We try to work as sustainably as possible and only use second-hand laptops and smartphones. All equipment is used until it can no longer be repaired.

The new merchandise is here!

You can find all items at our partner Spreadshirt. Spreadshirt has existed longer than Musiksocke (WOW!) and offers a smooth process and high-quality clothes. Of course in organic quality as usual:

Who writes here?

We are a small team of freelance editors and work on the website together with Sebastian, the founder of Musiksocke. Our aim is to publish high quality guides on the internet. Quality over quantity is our slogan!

The current members of the Musiksocke team are:

Team 1Sebastian (founder of musiksocke.com, child of the 90s, grew up with Napster, Bearshare & Co., also technical and creative director of the website)

Team 2Lisa (philosophy student from Berlin, always looking for new music, interested in Japanese culture, plays 4 musical instruments)

Team 3Matilda (freelance journalist, has been writing reviews of albums for over 10 years and is a passionate festival visitor, singer in the band “The Soundships”)

Team 4Jonas (self-employed copywriter, helps with his expertise in checking the texts and takes care of the many comments as well as e-mails, plays trombone in a marching band)

If we ever make a mistake, we would appreciate it if you could point it out to us. You can simply write us an e-mail. We will definitely answer and take care of it as soon as possible.

The best thing to do is to write an e-mail to Sebastian. He will then discuss it with the editorial team:
sebastian@musiksocke.com

We are looking for you!

Are you also passionate about music with all its different themes? You’re not afraid to tackle genres you don’t normally listen to in your everyday life?

Then you are just right for our team!

The best thing to do is to write an email to Sebastian (for contact details, see imprint) and briefly introduce yourself. You can then clarify everything else.

How is Musiksocke financed?

Musiksocke is financed by advertising. The use of the website remains free of charge. We use affiliate marketing and banners to earn money. When you click on a link, we get a commission when you buy a product or service. The price does not change for you. As an Amazon partner, we earn money on qualified sales. Our recommendations and opinions are created independently of these advertising partners. No company in the world can influence the content on Musiksocke. We report completely independently and objectively on all topics related to music.
